You’ve been speaking…

May 5, 2008

And I’ve been listening! So far on the polls it looks like most of you all like your health and beauty products. We have lots in common ;) I’ve added to the prize pool a stash of assorted beauty products from E.L.F. I wanted to wait until my order arrived before I went ahead and posted about it. Anyways, below are just some of the products I’ll be giving away. The cosmetic “bundles” will contain several assorted E.L.F. products. Remember, more prizes WILL be added as I get them! Keep checking back.

If Pat can do it, so can you!

A friendly reminder…send in your contest pictures and videos, deadline is May 31!

pat_contest.gifPictured here is Fancy Pat, and he has taken some time out of his busy spring schedule to submit his contest entry. What are YOU waiting for? By the way, Pat let us know that he’d more inclined to participate if we offered some Fancy Almonds as a prize. We obliged.

Introducing our annual Declare Your Love Contest!

April 14, 2008

*Frontpage Repost for subscribers*

It’s a fact; at least 99% of adults today suffer from a severe fun deficiency. Characterized by deepening frown lines, a rusty laugh and a distinct lack of hula hoop skills; this epidemic of gloom is reaching critical levels. Lucky for you, we are here to help you fight back: Better in Pink! introduces our annual DECLARE YOUR LOVE contest! A perfect way to give your company a new look & gain some positive exposure for your business or blog.

This year’s theme is PINK! So, how does it work? Grab some construction paper, an old pizza box or a silk flag, some paint, marker pens and plenty of glitter and make yourself a fancy, super stylish I LOVE PINK! sign. Next, stalk some poor unsuspecting passerby and get a video of yourself persuading them to hold up your dazzling work of art and declare their love for pink. We can’t guarantee anything, but chances are you will both be giggling by the time you are done!

Whether you are a social butterfly or more of a wallflower, this contest is the perfect way to get your very own daily dose of fun… have the chance to win some fabulous prizes & help your business grow at the same time! Want to play along, but have no need for a Web Site Hookup? No matter, you can always donate to someone you love, or nominate your favorite e-shop!

Trust us, fun IS contagious. Spread it around! Here’s what you’ll need to do to enter:

 1. Upload (or paste the url to) a short (3 min. or less!) video of yourself walking up to a perfect stranger on the street and convincing them to hold up a sign that says "I LOVE PINK!" Keep in mind that we WILL be posting the winning video AND that these short clips will be public. Make us laugh, but keep it clean!

*You can upload your video below, submit a url via youtube(or any other online video hosting provider) OR contact me if you prefer to send along your video via email.

2. Post the link to your video in the form below.

Outrageous-super-silly-giggle-until-you-can’t-breathe clips are encouraged and can win:

Spring Fever.

February 26, 2008

spring_fever.jpg
It’s that time of year again, when I get itchy itchy to be outside, plant seeds and just enjoy the warm sun on my face. This year I especially want to get on with the planting because I’ve decided to take the leap to becoming vegetarian (11 days so far!). I’ve been thinking about it for a long time as I have never been a big meat eater. I’ve cut out refined sugars, dairy, and meats from my diet and I gotta say I feel GREAT. So I definitely want to plant many veggies this year and see what happens. I will be starting a personal blog soonish to yap about that stuff because I’d like to document the changes my body is going through during the process, and probably post some recipes too. I’ll link to it as soon as I get that going :) Well enough about that! On to some site updates…

I’m caught up with my queue (phew!) and am now going to start working my way through the waiting list. You may have noticed up top I posted my availability for April 22nd -May 1st. I’ll be on vacation, so I’m going to try and get everyone caught up before I’m gone and then open up the queue again for May. I’d like to also get a contest started before then, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to iron all the details out by then or if waiting until I come back from vacation would be a better idea. I’ll be sure to post updates on that.

Speaking of waiting list, I’ve had mixed feedback from clients regarding having the list published on the site. A while back, I was publishing the waiting list and queue and while most clients liked being able to check in and see the list status- I also had some clients let me know that they’d rather not have their names or websites posted because they wanted their new looks to be a surprise. I think it might be time to add a client area to the site for a compromise, this way clients would be able to log in and view the list, but not have it be all public. Know what I mean?… Ah well, it sounds like I better get crackin this spring!
