Before leaving I actually went live with one of the projects I had mentioned earlier on the blog – Kat Willcox Photography Blog. The blog is still in the soft launch stage as we’re still tweaking things, but I’m excited to show you what I’ve been working on.
I know I always talk about how great my clients are and how awesome it is to be able to work with them one on one to create something they’ll love and that I’m proud of, but Kat is definitely one of those people that I will be keeping in touch with. Hear that Kat, you’re not gettin rid of me that easy! :) Kat is a hugely talented photographer, and I absolutely love her work. It was so great to work with her on this project! She even inspired me to try and kick my Perez addiction (9 days and counting!)

Hey!
So, my home was invaded by some germs for a bit. I think EVERYONE is feeling better now and we’ve finally ridded ourselves of whatever was ailing. Today was nice and warm albeit a touch gloomier than I’d prefer, but the slight increase in temperature definitely helped me remember that spring IS around the corner, dammit. No matter how long it seems to be taking.
Right now I’m working on a very very cool project for a wonderful artist that I can’t wait to share. I’ve actually shared a peek of it on the animated image above ;) I’m also working on another great project, this one for a fabulous bakery. Definitely a fun one…you’ll see soon! I’m so happy to be back to work, I really truly believe my mind needed that break because I can feel the ol’ creative juices going again.
It’s taken me longer than I’d like to get the contest details up for everyone, but we’re working on it and I promise they will be up soon. We’ve already had quite a buzz generated as I’ve been getting almost daily emails with inquiries! I truly love doing these contests, they’re always so much fun.
Last but not least, you may have noticed some (slight) changes around here…I added a little bit of texture to the background and changed out a few of the graphics. Gotta change things up a bit from time to time ;) Have a great week everyone!
I hinted about a new face around here the other day. So what a better day than today to introduce to you Maritza Cander. Maritza is my dear friend, a fabulously talented writer, mommy, wife, and as of recently has added illustrator to that list.
Maritza has been working with me behind the scenes as customer support, keeping me organized and caught up with all the emails and questions that get sent my way. Just recently, Mari was showing me some little things that she was doodling on PSP and I couldn’t believe how good she was! So good in fact that I’ve decided to feature some of her illustrations on some of my freemades and premades. And by all means if you see some of Mari’s work that you must have on your site please let me know- we’ll happily oblige. And I’m not sure how much workload Mari can handle, but I’m sure she wouldn’t mind whipping up a custom illustration every now and then!

Congratulations Cate, on the birth of little Madeline Olivia!
Cate is one of the very first clients I ever worked with after going live with Girliebits back in 2006. At the time, I didn’t work with Wordpress at all so we did her whole site (Sweetnicks) via blogger. Recently, she wanted to upgrade from blogger and start using Wordpress so she revisited me and asked if I would give her site a makeover. I used the Pride theme as my basis and customized all the images and colors for this look.
Please stop by and congratulate Cate on her new baby, and new launch :)
Sarah wanted a clean new look for her Wordpress blog and a custom logo. She wanted pinks and browns and a bistro-ey type of environment for her readers. I think this simple tone on tone pear motif worked well for the logo, and giving the layout plenty of whitespace keeps the readers eyes focused on the content and the beautiful food images she posts. Go visit the lovely Sarah over at Sarah’s Cucina Bella and say hi!
